The Governing Council of the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State wishes to inform the University Community and the general public of the appointment of Prof. Allen Aziba-Odumomsi Agih as the Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.
This is sequel to the approval by the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State and Visitor to the University of the recommendation of the Joint Council/Senate Selection Committee.
This appointment is for a single term of five (5) years and takes
effect from June 19, 2023.
Prof. Allen Aziba-Odumomsi Agih a Professor of Educational Management joined the University in 2002 as an Assistant Lecturer. Growing through the ranks to a Professor in 2017 he has held various positions in the University prominently; as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) 2021 2023, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) 2019 – 2021, Director, Advancement and Linkages Centre (2012 – 2019), Ag. HOD Educational Foundations 2012-2013 and Hall Warden 2011 – 2013.
Leveraging on these experiences and his personal attributes of humility, dedication and discipline, we are convinced that he will steer the University masterfully to achieve its set objectives.
