Bayelsa State is paying tribute to its late Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, with a four-day funeral programme. The Day of Tribute was held at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, attended by Governor Douye Diri, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, among other dignitaries.
The late deputy governor, who passed away on December 11, 2025, at 60, was known for his contributions to sports development in the state, and sporting events were held in his honor as part of the tribute.
Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, who worked closely with Ewhrudjakpo, described him as a politician of principle and conviction. The Bayelsa State government has declared a three-day state mourning in his honor.
