The father of Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, Adedeji Adeleke, has dismissed the paternity claims by a 12-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo, against his son.
According to Adeleke, the girl is not Davido’s child.
Yencityjamz reports that the singer’s father made the declaration on Wednesday while speaking at a press conference in Lagos.
According to him, five DNA tests have been done to verify the paternity claim, but all of them have come out negative.
While maintaining that Davido can not take responsibility for a child that is not his own, Adeleke added that Anuoluwapo deserves to know her father.
Despite the negative DNA results, Davido’s father revealed that he has always been supporting the girl financially.
Adeleke disclosed that he often sends money for Anu’s school fees and her upkeep, adding that her aunt would always send receipts back to him whenever the money comes in and also provides evidence of things bought for the 12-year-old.
The businessman added that Davido is not aware of what he does to support the girl or that he stays in touch with Anu’s aunt.
“I did not discuss it with David or anybody,” he said.
Naija News recalls that Anuoluwapo, the alleged daughter of singer Davido, had recently formally asked for a DNA test to confirm her identity.
She made the request public on her Instagram page, sharing a photo of herself along with a message about starting school after the holidays and entering her teenage years.
However, Davido dismissed the allegations and said multiple DNA tests had already been carried out, all showing he is not her father.
He stated that the matter should be put to rest and urged Anu and her mother to stop involving him, insisting they should look elsewhere for her biological father.
