Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has broken his silence following his Grammy loss.
Yencityjamz reported that the singer, alongside Burna Boy and Ayra Starr, lost to South African singer Tyla for the Best African Music Performance award at the 2026 Grammy Awards, which was held on Sunday, February 1st.
Tyla clinched the prize with her song, Push 2 Start, ahead of Burna Boy’s Love, Davido’s With You featuring Omah Lay, Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s Gimme Dat, as well as Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin’s Hope & Love.
Taking to his Instagram page, he shared photos from his Grammy’s appearance with his wife, Chioma and his manager, Asa Asika.
In his caption, the singer stated that God is on his side.

Reacting to his loss, Israel DMW noted that Davido still remains the best deal. He promised that music lovers and fans would hear more of his sweet songs.
Davido’s sister, Sharon Adeleke, via her Instagram story, shared a biblical verse, which reads, “At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen”.
Earlier on, socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, said that the white men are trying to break a strong man like Davido, so he can do this demonic shit with them, but he wouldn’t bow. He encouraged Davido to keep his head up, open the bag and drop another hot song for them.
Similarly, in 2024, there was outrage on social media when no Nigerian artist won any award. Burna Boy who scored 4 nominations, Global Music Performance, Best African Music, Best Melodic Rap, and Best Global Music Album, lost them all to his rivals.
Following suit, Davido lost his 3 Grammy nominations for Best Global Music Performance which Tyla won, Album of the Year, and Best African Music Performance.
Asake, Ayra Starr, and Olamide also lost their awards.
