Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has shared a startling encounter with a ‘juju man’ who allegedly attempted to cast a spell on him on an expressway. According to Bassey, during a worship session on the ‘Hallelujah Challenge,’ he recounted that this was the second time the same individual had approached him with intentions to influence him through enchantment. The man knocked on Bassey’s car and began casting a spell, hoping to command him to “do something.” However, Bassey responded with laughter and cited Bible verses affirming divine protection, including “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm” and “There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.”
Bassey said he stepped out of his car and ordered the man to leave, calling him a “dirty devil.” However, he later expressed regret over his action, stating he should have detained the ‘juju man’ until police arrived. “I just regretted that I should have kept him there for the police,” Bassey said, emphasizing his belief in divine protection and his stance against glorifying the devil’s works. He highlighted the existence of wickedness in the world but maintained his faith in God’s power over such attempts.
The gospel minister’s account has sparked reactions, with many of his followers commending his faith and response to the situation. Bassey’s experience underscores his commitment to his Christian beliefs and his view of spiritual protection in the face of alleged occult attempts. As a prominent figure in Nigerian gospel music, his testimony adds to his narrative of faith and resilience.
